Artworks artist Valerie Armstrong, who has been spending the summer at her second home in southern France, is involved in a new art exhibition in the region. Valerie is taking part in an exhibition, Les Artistes de MARIE Dix artistes du village, in the Medieval mountain village of MARIE, in the Alpes Maritimes, Southern France.
Marie is between Clans and St Sauveur in the Tinée Valley. The artists involved in the exhibition are: Elizabeth Adams, Pierre Gastaud, Claude Cagnol, Elysabeth Bernardi, Francis Ciamous, François Fuentes, Kasia Zelaska, Madeleine Grosso-Silvy, Marguerite Laird, Valérie Armstrong.
Two of Valerie’s paintings in the exhibition: Dreamscape and The Three Strangers.
A community of creative people congregate in Marie in the Summer months, enjoying their mainly inherited second homes, and enjoying the pure mountain air away from the searing heat of the French coast.
Last year a plan was formed to hold an exhibition to celebrate the wealth of creativity in the village and the outlying area.
The vernissage (opening) was held on Friday 14th August 2015.
