Meet the Artist: daily presentations at ARTWORKS 2015
Friday 25 September 2015: Doug Patterson – To look is to care about…
Doug Patterson will be at the ARTWORKS exhibition today, Friday 25 September 2015. Do visit the exhibition today if you would like to find out more about his work and his extensive travels around the globe. Doug will have myriad sketchbooks and drawings to illustrate new developments in his current project, Sacred Places, which now includes CERN in Switzerland and The Culham Centre for Nuclear Fusion.
He will be based in the demonstration area of the exhibition from 10am – 4pm.
Doug Patterson is a renowned architect and artist who says his ‘feet have not touched the ground in the last six years’. However, he is also an artist very much with his feet on the ground – as his recent watercolour sketches demonstrate, revealing a unique insight into the locations, religious communities and styles of architecture that he has encountered on his extensive travels around the world.
Doug Patterson trained at the Royal College of Art, then studied Architecture at the Architectural Association, graduating in 1974. He established his own architectural design practice and has spent the last twenty five years working on a wide variety of projects, ranging from film sets to a 28-suite luxury yacht.
Doug Patterson will be at the ARTWORKS exhibition from 10am – 4pm.
