Katie Millard

Living in the Suffolk countryside I often see and pause to look at who may be coming along the pathway I have stopped to view. When walking down one I not only look ahead, but pause to look behind too to see what I did see ahead, and how it looks once passed. I didn’t realise how often this happens until last year when I started sketching, painting and photographing and looked back at the amount of pathways I have actually walked down – not only to see if it is clear and free to walk down, but on my meanderings, observing the tunnels of light, the deep shadows, the contrast of sunlight on trees and hidden gems of mystery and fascination, studying and listening to nature at work often covering or destroying what man has made, taking back what is rightfully hers.
