SPRING ART EXHIBITION: PAINTINGS, PRINTS & COLLAGES

Anne Paton and  Jazz Green, two artists in Artworks, together with three other Suffolk painters, have organised a new art exhibition to be held over the Spring Holiday weekend of 27-29 May 2017 in Walberswick.

A new exhibition featuring work by five established East Anglian Artists: Geoffrey Chatten RBA, Miles Fairhurst, Jazz Green, Julie Noad and Anne Paton.

Walberswick is a pretty village on the Suffolk coast, a popular location for coastal walkers, plein-air painters and other artists.

The art exhibition is at Walberswick Village Hall for three days only, over the Late Spring Holiday weekend of 27th, 28th & 29th May 2017. Open Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 10am to 6pm. Free admission. Free parking at Village Hall for visitors to the art exhibition, or pay & display at either the boatyard or dunes car parks.

Directions: Follow road signs to Walberswick from Blythburgh on the A12. The Village Hall is centrally located opposite the village green, next to the access road to the dunes car park.

Helen Dougall: First World War Centenary Memorial Batik Wallhanging Project with local school

News from Helen Dougall on the completion of a special project with a local school:

You are invited to the unveiling of The First World War Centenary Memorial Batik Wallhanging featuring the work of Helen Dougall and children from Walsham le Willows Primary School.

When: Friday 11th November, 6.30pm for 7.00pm.
Where: Walsham le Willows Memorial Hall

Helen Dougall: First World War Centenary Memorial Batik Wallhanging Project with local schoolThe Hall will also be open to the public 11am-3pm Saturday 12th November and Sunday 13th November (and future events).

Helen Dougall has been commissioned with the help of the Big Lottery funding to work with school children in Walsham le Willows in Suffolk to make a batik wallhanging commemorating those who died in the First World War. The names of servicemen who came from Walsham le Willows are included in the design.

Poppies and landscape are featured, each child producing their own batik piece, all of which have been sewn together to form a 4- metre-wide wallhanging to be displayed in the Memorial Village Hall.

Small groups of the class of 9 – 10 year-olds took it in turns to visit Helen’s studio to learn the process of batik after producing observational drawings of poppies.

Jazz Green: Little Gems art exhibition at Wingfield Barns, Suffolk

Jazz Green is currently exhibiting some small artworks in a new exhibition entitled ‘Little Gems’ at Wingfield Barns in Suffolk, running in conjunction with the popular International Mini-Prints exhibition.

A favourite collage, ‘Little House‘, previously exhibited at the Artworks exhibition, is included in this special exhibition, which celebrates the colourful world of small art, a perfect accompaniment to the international mini-prints on show in the adjacent gallery.

‘Little Gems’ includes artists and associates from The Harleston & Waveney Art Trail Collective (HWAT). The exhibition includes paintings, prints, mosaics and textiles. Wingfield Barns is located in the heart of rural Suffolk, and this exhibition runs from 12 August to 11 September 2016.
