ARTWORKS Christine McKechnie ‘In our Nature’ Exhibition at ARTSPACE Woodbridge

ARTWORKS artist Christine McKechnie, a new exhibition, ‘In our Nature’, is continuing this week in Woodbridge, final day to visit Wednesday 3rd August 2022.

Christine and Jane are excited to be exhibiting together at Artspace in Woodbridge, Suffolk. Influenced by the flora and fauna around them, nature features widely in their art, and as mother & daughter, art is very much in their nature.

About the Artists

Christine McKechnie is a collage artist (watercolour painted cut-out paper) and has developed her intricate collage technique over many years. Her subjects are varied: water tumbling over rocks in the Lake District; rape fields below large skies in Suffolk; chalk ridges in Sussex; incidental details of human life in her beloved Venice.

She regularly exhibits in London and across the UK. and has featured at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibitions, where she has been awarded a prestigious prize. Christine is a founder member of the Suffolk Artworks group and participates in their Blackthorpe Barn annual exhibition.

Jane Bain is an artist and printmaker based in Wimbledon, London. Her work is an eclectic and playful mix of birds, sea life, fruit and memories, inspired by her garden, travels, adventures and the years spent living in London and the Far East.

She studied art and design at Wimbledon School of Art and the London College of Printing, graduating in graphic design. Jane exhibits regularly at the Wimbledon Art Fair and this year showed at The Affordable Art Fair in Battersea Park.
Jane is exhibiting screenprints from her Garden Birds and Printed Ocean series at Artspace Woodbridge.

ARTWORKS 21st Annual Exhibition – Final Day Sunday 10th October 2021 – it’s not too late to visit!

Tomorrow, Sunday 10th October 2021 is the final day of ARTWORKS 21st Annual Exhibition!

The last two weeks have flown by and we have been much heartened by everyone who has visited the exhibition in these unsettled times & we thank you for your support.

We are open tomorrow (Sunday) from 10am to 5pm. However, a visit before 2pm is advised to enjoy the exhibition in its entirety. A browse through each artist’s ‘browser rack’ is recommended in addition to the Artworks shop for small artworks & art cards – unique & original gifts for friends & loved ones.

We hope you have enjoyed the addition of five new guest artists this year – Louise Chapman, Antonia Hockton, Iona Howard, Evelyn Polk and Laurie Rudling – who were all originally selected in early 2020 and stayed with us after last year’s exhibition was cancelled – their artwork has undoubtedly contributed to the vitality & verve of this year’s exhibition.

Just a reminder, ARTWORKS is at the splendid Blackthorpe Barn in Rougham, Suffolk, IP30 9HZ. Follow the yellow AA signs from Junction 45 of the A14, or use SatNav IP30 9HZ. The exhibition venue Blackthorpe Barn is on ground level with easy access, free parking for all visitors.

All work in the exhibition is for sale. Payment can be made by cash or major credit/debit cards. Art buyers can collect their exhibition purchases from 4pm on Sunday (remember to bring your receipt). We have two teams to assist on the final day, on the sales desk and in the packing/collection area.

ARTWORKS 21st Annual Exhibition: MEET THE ARTIST Daily Schedule

Visitors to ARTWORKS in 2021 will once again have the opportunity to meet many of the the artists in the exhibition, with a selected artist setting up a mini desk ’studio’ or work area in the main thatched barn each day.

As each artist creates their art differently, the content & structure of each MTA day will vary – it may not be practically possible to demonstrate all art techniques. However, it is fabulous opportunity to get an insight into how an artist works.

Other ARTWORKS artists are also present each day to answer any questions, either working at the reception/sales desk or in the Ivy café.
