Nicci Dedman

My sculptures are made of metal wire and derive from my fascination with what can be achieved using wire alone. Mostly I use steel that is worked by hand manipulating the wires to form the subject, the result being an integral completely three dimensional piece. The pieces vary in size and according to the restraints of the wire used, some pieces offer a fragility in their size due to pushing the material to its’ limit, whilst others are more robust. Inspiration comes from the natural world around me; with local wildlife and floral subjects particularly interesting for me.
