Valerie Armstrong : new exhibition in France

Artworks artist Valerie Armstrong, who has been spending the summer at her second home in southern France, is involved in a new art exhibition in the region. Valerie is taking part in an exhibition, Les Artistes de MARIE Dix artistes du village, in the Medieval mountain village of MARIE, in the Alpes Maritimes, Southern France.

Marie is between Clans and St Sauveur in the Tinée Valley. The artists involved in the exhibition are: Elizabeth Adams, Pierre Gastaud, Claude Cagnol, Elysabeth Bernardi, Francis Ciamous, François Fuentes, Kasia Zelaska, Madeleine Grosso-Silvy, Marguerite Laird, Valérie Armstrong.

A community of creative people congregate in Marie in the Summer months, enjoying their mainly inherited second homes, and enjoying the pure mountain air away from the searing heat of the French coast.

Last year a plan was formed to hold an exhibition to celebrate the wealth of creativity in the village and the outlying area.

COLCHESTER ART SOCIETY OPEN EXHIBITION 2015

Artists throughout East Anglia are invited to submit work for the Colchester Art Society Open Exhibition to be held at the Colchester Institute, Sheepen Road, Colchester, from 11th -25th July 2015.

The Society is looking for a variety of 2D and 3D art work which is bold and engaging. All styles, themes, mediums and disciplines within the visual arts will be accepted and new and emerging artists are all encouraged to enter. The work is subject to selection by the Colchester Art Society selection panel. Artists are also permitted to enter unframed work for the browsers as well as greetings cards which will not be selected.

A total of £500 in prize money will be awarded, with £300 for the piece of work judged by the President, Simon Carter, to be the best in show.

The Submission Form and Instructions to Artists can be downloaded from the website or requested by completing the Contacts Form on the Colchester Art Society website: www.colchesterartsociety.co.uk or by emailing colchesterartsociety.mail@googlemail.com

All art work will need to be delivered to J Block at the Colchester Institute (entrance from the roundabout at the bottom of Balkerne Hill) between 10am and 1pm on Thursday, 9 July 2015. Those wishing to submit 3D work can do so by emailing two views of each piece of work to: colchesterartsociety.mail@googlemail.com, or alternatively, 3D artists can submit two photographs of each piece of work with the submission form. 3D artists will be notified by 6 July as to whether their work has been accepted.
