ARTWORKS art exhibition : more pictures on our blog!

Here at the Artworks blog we love sharing a few sneaky snapshots of the Artworks exhibition, which is on now until Sunday 29 September 2013, at the tranquil setting of Blackthorpe Barn in central Suffolk (full details below).

Paintings & drawings by Doug Patterson and Kit Price Moss

If you are planning a visit to the Artworks exhibition, hurry because it closes this weekend!

Cockerel wire sculpture by Jenny Goater
The Artworks annual exhibition is a perfect opportunity to see new and original contemporary work by thirty East Anglian artists, all under one roof! Many of the new artworks on show have already sold this year, but there are small treasures waiting to be discovered in the Artworks shop.
Oak Bench by Mac McCaughan, paintings by Constance Stubbs & Anne Paton
Mac McCaughan is a designer-craftsman working in wood and steel. His one-off bespoke contemporary designs often have a strong sculptural aesthetic, as seen in this impressive oak bench.
Anne Paton‘s expressive paintings continue to be very popular with visitors, in her energetic responses to scenes of nature and the landscape of the Suffolk coast. Travelling further afield Kit Price Moss paints & draws from direct observation the many birds of coastal Scotland.
Paintings by Eleonora Knowland & Elaine Nason
Another highly collectable artist is Elaine Nason, who has a loyal regional following, her paintings often depicting domestic scenes of country life with honesty and subtle humour.
To the left of the picture you can see a large painting on canvas by the painter Eleonora Knowland, inspired by her recent travels across Australia, bringing an international dimension to the show. Another artist, Doug Patterson, has also travelled extensively, this year showing drawings and watercolours developed from his Sacred Places of the World project.
Etchings by Jan Dingle
If you like art which explores the East Anglian landscape, then the work of Jan Dingle, Janet FrenchPat Colyer and Colin Slee are likely to appeal.
The Artworks blog will share more pictures of the exhibition tomorrow. In the meantime, find out more about all the Artworks artists exhibiting (or click on the links on the right hand side).
There is also the equally popular Artworks shop, with a wonderful range of unframed and small works for sale, including paintings, drawings, original fine art handcrafted prints (not gicleé reproductions), mixed media collage, 3D crafts including metalwork, ceramics, glass and papier maché, and not forgetting an extensive range of greetings cards (some handmade, affordable unique mini-works) – and assorted artist postcards, all priced at 50p each. There is also the Artworks café next door, making it a perfect setting to relax and enjoy the art on show.
