Meet the Artist: daily presentations at ARTWORKS 2015

Wednesday 23rd September 2015: Norfolk artist Roger Gamble is back at the ARTWORKS exhibition today, demonstrating acrylic painting techniques. Roger will be in the barn with ‘paintings in progress’ for visitors to see, to talk about art, ideas and inspiration. This is an ideal opportunity to find out more about acrylic paints as a medium, types of canvas, mixing colours, paint brushes, the stages of a painting, painting techniques, paint effects.

Wednesday 23 September 2015: Roger Gamble – Painting in Acrylics!

Roger is well-regarded for his colourful canvas paintings. Recent paintings focus on the landscapes of Norfolk.

Much of my interest nowadays involves the possibilities offered by the strong horizontals and wide spaces of Breckland, the Fens, and the coastlines of Norfolk.

Saturday 19 September 2015: Roger Gamble – Acrylics and Ideas

Roger is well-known for his vibrantly painted and often humorous paintings, but in recent times his work has become more minimalist and abstract. Recent paintings focus on the Breckland landscape.

For most of my artistic life I have been a figurative painter, much preoccupied with images of people in commonplace situations, with little ironies and paradoxes. Much of my interest nowadays involves the possibilities offered by the strong horizontals and wide spaces of Breckland, the Fens, and the coastlines of Norfolk.
